Why we built mehir.co

In Türkiye, mahr is largely agreed verbally. A promise made at the wedding can be remembered differently years later; if written on paper, it can be lost. We built mehir.co to turn that promise into a digital record that both parties approve.

This is not a financial product. The right analogy isn’t a bank — it’s a marriage certificate and a wedding album. mehir.co is a product of documentation, trust and remembrance — and above all, a gentle tool that helps you have a difficult conversation properly.

Our principles are clear: We hold no money. We ask for no ID documents. Contract contents are processed on the server and encrypted in storage; you choose whether to keep them. We issue no religious rulings; we relay religious information only with reference to authoritative sources.
